Charlotte Bird (Beard) SSMA
Clinical Sports and Remedial Soft Tissue Therapist & LTA Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist (Fill & Flush)
In 2009, I achieved the highest level of certification in the UK, obtaining my level 5 BTEC Diploma in Clinical Sports and Remedial Massage. My studies at the Oxford School of Sports Massage were tailored towards Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy, with a focus on Injury Treatment, Prevention, and Rehabilitation. Only 12 institutions in the UK offer training at this advanced level, and therapists qualified at level 4 and above are regarded as highly skilled in this domain. With my credentials, I qualify for membership in both the Sports Massage Association and the Institute of Remedial Massage Therapists.
I hold comprehensive insurance coverage and possess a gold membership license with the Sports Massage Association (SMA), the largest professional association for Sports Soft Tissue Therapists in the UK and Ireland. As a full member of SMA, I undergo annual qualification renewals and adhere to the SMA's Code of Conduct of Professional Practice. This ensures that I consistently deliver excellence in professional conduct and practice, surpassing client expectations.
I have worked at many local sporting event's providing pre, intermediate and post massage to participating sports men and women. I have also taken part in national sporting event's such as 'Sleepless in the Saddle' which is a 24 hour cycling event, providing pre and post sports massage to athlete's throughout the night and also the London marathon.
